GTA V leak, SWTOR changes, xcom math, and more!
GTA V's release date may have been leaked by an early released promotional poster.
Shows spring of 2013, but only PS3 and 360, no PC?.. A Polish website GTA-five.pl posted the picture over the weekend.
A few changes have been made for the free-to-play model of Star Wars The Old Republic. Based on “internal and community feedback and further deliberation.” Free-to-play players will now be given a second quickslot bar, they can now engage in five warzones per week instead of just three, and “the Cartel Coin item lock (i.e. temporary bind) will be reduced to 3 days for Free-to-Play players, and 2 days for subscribers.” Massively interpret that to mean that the temporary lock timer for cash-shop items will be reduced. Schubert reveals that “originally, the second quickslot bar was part of preferred status [players that cancel their subscription and move to free-to-play], but this morning based on feedback here and what they were seeing in the community we decided to give it to everyone.”
University of Kent Research Associate Neil Brown has written a blog post with numbers and probability graphs determining rapid fire vs single fire success rate in X-Com. I am going to try and decipher all this math later today when I am more awake, but wanted to post the link for anyone whose interested now.
