Rock Band returns without peripherals

Usually when your game sales start dropping in numbers you do one of two things, create something new, or go back to the old. In this case Harmonix is going to rock out old school without peripherals and use only a controller. Frequency, which was a PS2 fast paced rhythm game used only a controller to play, this is the style Rock Band: Blitz will be. There will still be four "tracks" to follow, bass, guitar, drums, voice. The key is to use the different instruments at the right time to rack up your multiplier, while using only 1 instrument your multiplier will go down. This will be single player only but will have some competition with friends will a leader board. There will also be 20 new songs added to the game and Above all, you will be-able to import any previous song from Rockband or any DLC you have purchased for free. There is no word on pricing yet, but look for Rock Band Blitz on PSN and XBOX live this summer.
